OTTAWA – The Canadian Paralympic Committee is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Ian Chan at the young age of 41. Ian proudly represented Canada at five Paralympic Games as a member of the wheelchair rugby team, earning a silver medal at Athens 2004 and London 2012 and a bronze medal at Beijing 2008. He was an outstanding athlete, teammate, leader, and representative of the Canadian Paralympic Team whose contributions to the sport over the last two decades are invaluable. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the entire wheelchair rugby and Canadian Para sport family during this difficult time.
