Over the past two weeks, 11 of Canada’s elite Para athletes have been nominated to the Canadian Paralympic Team for the Paris 2024 Paralympics that will take August 28 to September 8 in Paris, France. Canada is expecting to send a team of approximately 140 athletes to the Games.
The Paris 2024 Paralympics are on track to be the most gender-balanced Paralympics in history, with an expected 45% of athletes being women, surpassing the historic record of 42% achieved at Tokyo 2020.
The President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Andrew Parsons, recently declared that “the Paralympic Games in Paris will be the most spectacular in history”.
