BEIJING – Natalie Wilkie of Salmon Arm, B.C. matched her medal total from four years ago with a silver in the women’s standing 10-kilometre cross country race at the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games.

Wilkie, the victor in the cross-country sprint and long-distance events, just missed completing a golden sweep. Oleksandra Kononova of Ukraine won the gold in 41 minutes and 18.0 seconds. Wilkie fell on the last turn but rebounded quickly to finish strong in 41:45.3. Iryna Bui of Ukraine was third in 41:47.1.

Brittany Hudak of Prince Albert, Sask. was seventh and Emily Young of North Vancouver 11th.

Wilkie, a 21-year-old with a hand disability who skies with one pole, won three medals at the 2018 PyeongChang Games.
