Canada is facing the United States in a huge women’s wheelchair basketball quarterfinal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games on Monday night, and CBC will be broadcasting the game live on CBC Atlantic and the free CBC Gem streaming service.

Taking place at 12:30 a.m. AT, the game’s broadcast represents an extension of planned TV coverage. It will also be aired across the country during CBC’s planned late night coverage at 12:30 a.m. local.

“The addition of Canada’s quarterfinal match to the TV schedule illustrates the demand and interest in watching Canada’s Paralympians at the Tokyo Games,” said Martin Richard, executive director, Communications and Brand, Canadian Paralympic Committee. “We have seen record-breaking coverage already through the Games with more sports livestreamed than ever before and more Canadians following the action across all platforms made available by the Canadian Paralympic Media Consortium.”

Audiences can tune in live at 12:30 a.m. AT on CBC Atlantic tonight to watch Canada take on USA in a re-match of the Lima 2019 Parapan Am Games final, which the Canadians won 67-64. The Americans are the defending Paralympic champions while Canada is looking to earn its first podium spot since 2004. A spot in the semifinals and the chance to play for a medal is on the line.

The game can also be livestreamed at Paralympic.ca/Tokyo-2020/live-stream-video-demand, cbc.ca/tokyo2020 and Radio-Canada.ca/jeux-paralympiques, the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices, the free CBC Gem streaming service, and the Radio-Canada Sports app.

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games continue until September 5. Canada currently has won 12 medals through six days of competition.
