The Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) brought a 213-member delegation to the 2011 Parapan American Games, which included 126 athletes, seven guides and 80 officials (coaches, managers, support and mission staff.) Canada competed in 11 of 13 sports in Guadalajara, including: Archery, Athletics, Boccia, Para-Cycling, Goalball, Judo, Sitting Volleyball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Wheelchair Basketball and Wheelchair Tennis.
With a bold and unwavering commitment, the Canadian Paralympic Team took to the fields, courts, and pools, delivering remarkable performances that highlighted their exceptional talent and dedication. These Games were more than a competition; they were a celebration of diversity and a testament to the strength and unity within our Paralympic community.
Go back in time to the 2011 Guadalajara Medals Ceremony. This was the first time that the Canadian Paralympic Team put on a medals recognition ceremony. A fun, light evening meant to acknowledge medal winners to-date at these Games. A cultural gift was awarded to each medalist as a Team tradition.
