2024-25 PARALYMPIC SPORT DEVELOPMENT FUND

Athletes from the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games

The 2024-25 Paralympic Sport Development Funds are provided by the Paralympic Foundation of Canada (PFC) and will be used for various projects to further develop Para sport pathways and opportunities for Para athletes such as purchasing adaptive equipment, building coaching capacities and skill levels, establishing new programming, recruiting new athletes, and providing more competition and training opportunities.

Funding through the PFC will support initiatives and programs that contribute to athlete and coach development for those on a Paralympic pathway. The program is designed to support developing athletes and enhance programs at entry-level competition stages (Learn to Train) and provincial levels (Train to Train and Train to Compete)

Funding can cover recruitment, coaching, competition and club development, training camps and any other area that contributes to enhanced capacity for programs, athletes or teams on a sport-specific Paralympic pathway.

The CPC and PFC are encouraging organizations to collaborate on planning and delivering initiatives across multiple sports. These collaborative projects, including multiple organizations and sports, are eligible to apply for the Paralympic Sport Development Fund. The intent is to allow organizations to explore new ideas and approaches to collaborate within the Para sport system.

The application process for the 2024-25 Paralympic Sport Development Fund is now closed.

The program awarded 18 organizations with 2023-24 Paralympic Sport Development Fund grants to support the development and growth of Para sport programming and initiatives across Canada.

Local, regional, and provincial organizations from seven provinces will receive grants varying from $5,000 to $15,000 for a total distribution of $200,000. The complete list of recipients and their projects can be found HERE.
