PyeongChang, March 13, 2018 – The PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games will reach its midway point on Wednesday, with the Canadian Paralympic Team looking to add to its medal count.

PyeongChang, March 13, 2018 – It was a multi-medal day for the Canadian Paralympic Team at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games on Tuesday, as Mollie Jepsen (West Vancouver, BC), Alana Ramsay (Calgary, AB), and Mark Arendz (Hartsville, PEI) captured a gold and two bronze medals. Canada sits fifth in total medals with 10 through four days of action.

“It was a fun game.”
That’s how Canadian skip Mark Ideson summed up his team’s 6-5, extra-end victory or the United States on Tuesday night.
“They’re great people and there’s a lot of camaraderie out there,” said Ideson of his American opponents. “We have a lot of respect for them. They’re good players, and good people.”
Ideson and Team Canada were probably the only ones having fun, as the rest of the Canadian supporters were chewing their fingernails off. Again, Canada got down early, this time falling behind 3-0 after two ends.
Mollie Jepsen clinches Paralympic gold in her first-ever super combined race
Alana Ramsay wins second bronze medal
PYEONGCHANG, KOR (March 13, 2018) — At the very first super combined race she has ever competed in, rookie Mollie Jepsen shocked herself by winning gold on the third day of racing at the Paralympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, making her a two-time medallist in three days. She shared the podium with fellow Canadian Alana Ramsay, who added to her hardware collection from these Games with a second bronze medal.
Mark Arendz Earns Biathlon Bronze at Paralympic Winter Games
Earlier this week, Mark Arendz wanted to come out of his first biathlon race of the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games with something around his neck and got the silver medal.
On Tuesday, he went for the win.
Arendz put it all on the line in a 12.5-kilometre slog through deep, soft snow at the Alpensia Biathlon Cetnre in PyeongChang where he ended up with the bronze medal in a thrilling middle-distance biathlon scrap that saw three of the world’s best exchanging jabs until the finish line.

Elite athletes live for the feeling of being in “the zone” - the sensation where your peak performance is on auto-pilot, every result is perfect, and you can’t miss.
For Canada’s wheelchair curlers, it must have felt like they were just a few inches outside of “the zone.”
“You know, some days you’re one with the rock. Other days, it’s like your two completely different entities,” said Ina Forrest, who throws third on Canada’s Paralympic team. “We just didn’t have the zen of curling today.”
