PyeongChang, March 12, 2018 – Day four action will kick off at the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games on Tuesday, with Canadians in competition in three sports: Para alpine, Para nordic (biathlon), and wheelchair curling.

•    After a day off, Para alpine skiing will be back on the hills of the Jeongseon Alpine Centre. Canada’s skiers have already captured four medals in PyeongChang (Mac Marcoux and guide Jack Leitch, Kurt Oatway, Mollie Jepsen, and Alana Ramsay) and will be going for more hardware on Tuesday. The day kicks off with the Super-G race at 9:30 a.m. local time/8:30 p.m. Monday ET followed by the Slalom at 3 p.m. local time/2 a.m. ET.

•    Biathlon is back on the schedule for Para nordic skiing starting at 10 a.m. local time/9 p.m. Monday ET. It’ll be the 12.5KM race for the men and 10KM race for the women across the three categories – sitting, standing, and visually impaired. All six of Canada’s biathletes will be competing – Mark Arendz, Collin Cameron, Sebastien Fortier, Derek Zaplotinsky, Brittany Hudak, and Emily Young. The Canadians won two medals in biathlon back on day one – Arendz a silver in standing and Cameron a bronze in sit skiing.

•    Canada’s wheelchair curlers will be back at the rink for two matches as round-robin action continues. Mark Ideson’s team will take on China at 9:35 a.m. local time/8:35 p.m. Monday ET followed by the United States of America at 7:35 p.m. local time/6:35 a.m. ET. Canada, who finished fifth at the world championships here in Gangneung a year ago, brings a 3-2 record into day four of competition.

•    The Canadian Para ice hockey team has completed its preliminary games and will now have a couple days off to get ready for the semifinals, set for Thursday. Canada will learn its semifinal opponent today as round-robin action will officially conclude at the Gangneung Hockey Centre.
