Classification

In 2012, a serious illness cost Andrew Tucker his right leg below the knee. Through great family support and a positive outlook, Tucker has made an impressive comeback and is now a member of Team Canada with the men’s sitting volleyball team.

Tucker practiced several sports before his illness, including volleyball. However, it was national team members Jason Naval and Jamoi Anderson who visited Tucker in rehabilitation and encouraged him to give sitting volleyball a try. He took his first serves and smashes in the summer 2014 and was immediately hooked. He made the national team at the selection camp in April 2015.
