Massie, Minard, Salt on podium at Para snowboard World Cup
KELOWNA, B.C. – Alex Massie of Barrie, Ont., and Curtis Minard of Vernon, B.C., reached career highs with silver medals and Michelle Salt of Calgary added a bronze on Tuesday at the World Cup Final in Para snowboarding. All three are tuning up for the Winter Paralympic Games which start in one month in PyeongChang.
Minard took a nasty spill in his first heat but returned in the second to snag silver behind France’s Maxime Montaggioni in the Upper Limb category.
Curt Minard Finishes 2nd Overall In 2017/2018 World Cup Para-SBX Rankings
KELOWNA, B.C. – Curt Minard (Vernon, BC) added to his impressive 2017/2018 season tally by being awarded 2nd place in the overall Para-SBX Men’s Upper Limb World Cup standings. Minard took home bronze in December in Finland, and combined with Tuesday’s Para-SBX silver at Big White, was enough to slide him into the second overall ranking behind France’s Maxime Montaggioni.
Canada takes 3rd in Para Snowboard 2017/2018 Nations Cup
KELOWNA, B.C. - Canada had a lot to smile about at the end of the Big White 2018 World Para Snowboard World Cup Finals, as the team grabbed the third position in the Nations Cup. Michelle Salt (Calgary, AB) also placed 4th in the Big White 2018 World Cup, which cemented her spot of third in the overall Women’s LL-1 Banked Slalom ranking.

Ottawa, February 26, 2018 – A total of 55 athletes will comprise the PyeongChang 2018 Canadian Paralympic Team, as the Canadian Paralympic Committee announced today the official list of athletes selected to represent Canada at the Winter Games from March 9-18, 2018 in South Korea.
