Team Canada Champion Chats will be hosting a special live Paralympic edition on September 1, in partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee, Canadian Olympic Committee, and Classroom Champions.

Team Canada Champion Chats is a national education program designed to empower Canadian children and youth to embrace challenges, achieve goals, and ultimately become champions in their community. Participants not only get to hear the athletes’ stories, but also get to interact with them and ask questions.

There will be two special Paralympic live chats, one in English and one in French. Host Benoit Huot will be joined by athletes fresh from their competition at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. During the chat the athletes will share their stories of perseverance, resilience and their journeys to the Games, with the goal of empowering children to embrace what it means to #BeAChampion.

“It really is such an honour to host these live chats,” said Huot. “To be able to talk to athletes directly after this monumental moment in their lives and hear their stories is inspiring. It is so important for kids to hear not only the stories of success, but the challenges too, the bounce backs and the hard work it took for these athletes to succeed.”

Teachers, parents, and students can still register for Wednesday’s chat and access the lesson plans by visiting championchats.olympic.ca. The English chat will take place on September 1 live at 7:00 p.m. ET HERE and the French live at 10 a.m. ET HERE.
