Milano Cortina 2026 Day 3 Preview: Para alpine skiing returns for super-G races

Cortina, Italy, March 8, 2026 – The action continues at the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games, with Canada’s Para alpine skiers returning to the slopes following a day off and round-robin play ongoing in Para ice hockey and wheelchair curling. Below is a run-down of Day 3 action for the Milano Cortina 2026 Canadian Paralympic Team on Monday March 9:   

Para Alpine Skiing 
Canada’s Para alpine skiers are ready to race again, with super-G action starting at 9 a.m. local time / 4 a.m. ET. The squad is led by Saturday’s downhill medallists Kalle Eriksson and guide Sierra Smith (in the men’s visually impaired) alongside Kurt Oatway, a 2018 men’s sitting gold medallist in this event. Also set for the start gate are Michaela Gosselin in the women’s standing, Alexis Guimond in the men’s standing, and Brian Rowland in the men’s sitting.  

Wheelchair Curling 
Mark Ideson, Ina Forrest, Collinda Joseph, Jon Thurston and alternate Gilbert Dash bring a 3-0 record into day three of wheelchair curling competition and will face off against Latvia at 9:35 a.m. local time / 4:35 a.m. ET.  

Para Ice Hockey 
After a strong opening victory on day one of the Games, Canada’s Para ice hockey team looks to go 2-0 in the round-robin tournament. They take on Japan at 8:35 p.m. local time / 3:35 p.m. ET.
