Sixth career medal for three-time Paralympian

BEIJING – Mac Marcoux of Sault Ste-Marie, Ont. won his sixth career Paralympic Games medal but his first with guide Tristan Rodgers of Ottawa, finishing second in the men’s Para alpine skiing downhill for the visually impaired.

Johannes Aigner and his guide Matteo Fleischmann of Austria took the gold in one minute and 13.45 seconds. Marcoux and Rodgers, the first racers to go down the hill, were second in 1:13.81 and Hyacinthe Deleplace with Valentin Giraud-Moine of France were third at 1:14.10.

Marcoux was the defending champion in the event. He won two medals in PyeongChang and three back in 2014 in Sochi as a 16-year-old.

Logan Leach of Lumby, B.C. and his guide Julien Petit of Quebec City were ninth in their Games debut.
