Fasken supports PFC’s IGNITE the Light campaign through ‘One Hour at a Time’ initiative
The Paralympic Foundation of Canada (PFC) campaign is aiming to raise $1 million to support the development of Para sport in Canada.
The Paralympic Foundation of Canada (PFC) is proud to announce Fasken’s support of the IGNITE The Light fundraising campaign. Fasken, one of Canada’s leading law firms and a long-term partner of the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC), has demonstrated its continued commitment to supporting worthy causes by participating in the Paralympic Foundation of Canada’s IGNITE the Light virtual seats fundraising initiative.
This groundbreaking campaign calls on Canadians from coast to coast to coast to show their support for the nation’s Paralympic athletes by purchasing virtual seats, filling a virtual stadium with national pride and encouragement.
Through the One Hour at a Time campaign, Fasken encourages its firm members to contribute to charitable efforts by donating the equivalent of an hour of their billable time or an amount of their choosing. This initiative has been a steadfast supporter of the PFC’s fundraising efforts and has played a crucial role in advancing the Paralympic Movement in Canada.
And this year, the campaign has been given a twist with Fasken supporting the IGNITE The Light virtual seats fundraising initiative to help the Paralympic Foundation of Canada raise $1 million in support of Canada’s Para athletes.
The virtual seats in the campaign are more than just symbolic. They represent the support and encouragement of individuals and organizations across Canada. Each virtual seat purchased contributes directly to the development and success of athletes with disabilities in Canada, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities needed to compete at the highest levels. Fasken’s team members have achieved their highest fundraising total to date through the One Hour at a Time program, in support of the IGNITE the Light initiative.
“We are incredibly proud to support the Paralympic Foundation of Canada’s IGNITE the Light campaign. At Fasken, we believe in the power of community and the importance of inclusivity in sports,” said Martin Denyes, Firm Managing Partner.
“We encourage everyone to join us in lighting up the virtual stadium and supporting the remarkable Canadian Paralympic Team athletes as they compete at Paris 2024.”
