Ottawa, October 28, 2025 – The Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) has awarded additional grants for the 2025-26 Paralympic Sport Development Fund, bringing this year’s funding total to a record $355,000.
The additional grants were made possible through Sport Canada’s Community Sport for All Initiative, which has awarded CPC with $300,000 for Para sport development. A total of $255,000 will be directed towards the Paralympic Development Sport Fund recipients, with $100,000 already provided by the Paralympic Foundation of Canada.
The Paralympic Sport Development Fund provides grants ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 to support the development and growth of Para sport programming across Canada. Funding goes towards areas such as recruitment, coaching education and development, competitions, training camps, facility costs, and reducing registration or participation fees.
Eighteen organizations were originally supported earlier this year. Six of these grantees will now receive an increase in their funding, while nine organizations have been newly funded.
With these additions, a total of 27 organizations are receiving 2025-26 Paralympic Sport Development Fund grants for an overall distribution of $355,000, making this the most expansive year of the program yet.
