Canadian Paralympic Committee opens call for applications for 2027 Board of Directors 

Ottawa, September 1, 2026 – The Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) has officially opened its call for applications for the 2027 Board of Directors.   

CPC has five open director positions on its volunteer Board and is seeking candidates with diverse backgrounds, skill sets, lived experience, and expertise who are excited about the opportunity to make a positive impact.   

The Board is led by president Marc-André Fabien and vice-president Michelle Stilwell, who are in four-year terms until 2029. There are nine director roles, with four members in the midst of four-year terms and five with their two-year terms coming to an end in the spring of 2027.  

“It is an exciting time to be part of the Paralympic Movement in Canada, and CPC has an important role to play in ensuring a strong future for Para sport,” said David Masse, chair of the Nominations Committee. “As CPC works to create a sport system that removes barriers and sets Para athletes up for success on the international stage, we also believe Para sport can be a leader in fostering a more inclusive society for all Canadians.  

“A strong, diverse, and inclusive Board will drive this ambitious vision forward, and we encourage any individual who has an interest in making an impact to apply.”  

The CPC Board focuses on strategic leadership and governance, setting the organization’s vision, mission, values, priorities, strategy, budget, and policy. CPC is currently entering the fourth year of its 10-year strategy with a mission of delivering the best prepared teams for Games excellence while enabling Canadians to experience the power of Para sport.  

The Nominations Committee will make a final determination of candidates in early 2027 with the election taking place Spring 2027.
