Lowell Taylor learned he had the talent to be an elite athlete when he attended a Canadian Paralympic Committee Paralympian Search event in 2015. As a member of Cycling Canada’s NextGen squad he’s had his first taste of a major Games at the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima, then in early 2020, he raced at the World Track Championships in Milton, Ont.

At the Parapan Ams he earned silver medals in the Kilo and individual pursuit with pilot Andrew Davidson. His best result at the 2020 track worlds was a seventh in the individual pursuit with pilot Ed Veal. They also set a Canadian record in the Kilo.

PERSONAL

Diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) which has required him to adjust to decreasing sight his entire life…. First visually impaired contestant on Amazing Race Canada in 2016…. He is a registered psychologist and provides counselling, coaching and consultation… Since 2017 has been a Health and Wellness coach on Mind, Set, Go, a TV documentary series on AMI… Has a Masters of Arts from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Lethbridge.
