Reinke

Emma Reinke has been a member of the Canadian national team since 2017.

In 2023, Reinke and her teammates won the gold medal at the Parapan American Games to earn a berth for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Reinke notched a hat trick for a second straight game including two goals on penalty shots as Canada defeated the United States 4-3 in the intense gold medal match in Santiago for the last chance Paralympic berth.

Reinke ended the tournament with a team-leading 25 goals including seven in one game in an 11-1 rout of Peru.

She made her Paralympic debut in 2020 and scored eight times in four games, including four in a 5-1 win over Israel.

Reinke attended the 2019 IBSA World Championship and Games, 2019 Parapan Am Games, 2018 IBSA Goalball World Championship and was an alternate at the 2016 Paralympics before making the team for the 2020 Games. In addition, she has been a member of Team Ontario’s women’s goalball team since 2014.

As a member of the junior Canadian team in 2015, Reinke won gold at the 2015 IBSA World Youth and Student Games.

Reinke was introduced to the sport of goalball in grade nine gym class while attending W. Ross Macdonald School for the blind in Brantford, ON. At school in 2014, Reinke was asked if she would be interested in playing for Team Ontario’s junior team. One year later she was asked to join the senior team and before she knew it, she was also playing for Team Canada.
