Duncan McDonald was 15 years old when he made his debut in Canada’s Para Soccer National Team Program in 2016 with coach Drew Ferguson. He scored his first international Para soccer goal for Canada on 21 July 2017.

McDonald has represented Canada at the 2017, 2019, 2022 world championships/World Cup. He played in 25 international matches with 22 starts. He has four goals and five assists in his international career so far as of October 2023.
