Danik Allard has been named to the Canadian Paralympic Team for the Paris 2024 Paralympics, marking his second appearance at the Paralympic Games. He began his Para sport career in Para ice hockey and Para swimming. However, in 2012, looking for a new challenge, he started playing Boccia at his mother’s suggestion. Since then, his passion for the sport has only grown. For Danik, Boccia is a way to gain confidence, explore new places, face competitive challenges, and meet new people.

In 2019, Danik made a significant impact on the international scene, climbing to 14th in the world rankings after just two international appearances. This achievement secured his spot at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, where he competed in the individual BC2 class event. Allard continued to excel, playing a crucial role in his team’s bronze medal win at the World Boccia São Paulo Americas Regional Championships, which qualified them for the 2022 World Championships. He has also achieved notable results at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games, winning silver medals in both the Men’s Individual BC2 event and Mixed team BC1-BC2 event.

Danik’s career highlights include competing at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games, the Rio 2022 World Championships, the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, the 2019 Boccia World Open, and winning a gold medal at the 2015 Jeux du Quebec.
