Cory Johnson broke five Canadian records in para-athletics including the 100-m and 200-m sprints and is now on his way to achieving a new objective as a goaltender with the Canadian seven-a-side football team. Johnson gained a spot on the national team for the 2015 Parapan American Games in Toronto.

The 40-year-old says he is not surprised with his quick progress because he was very determined the make the team and kept out any negative thoughts. “When I set a goal, I remove all obstacles to achieve it.” Johnson trained for a year and was invited to a couple of training camps by Canadian national team coach Drew Ferguson who was impressed with his progress.
