Before becoming a guide for Para nordic skier Madison Mullin, Brooke Ailey qualified and competed for Canada at the 2025 FISU World University Games, where she was the top Canadian finisher in the 10 km interval start.
Mullin and Ailey were selected together for the 2025-26 Para Nordic World Cup competition team and notched three silver medals in the women’s visually impaired events at the season opener in Canmore in December 2025.
Ailey grew up skiing at the Lappe Nordic Ski Club in Thunder Bay, where skiing was a big part of her family life and community.
She studies and races at Nipissing University where she is completing a bachelor’s degree in physical health and education and plans to pursue a master’s in kinesiology with a focus on sport psychology.
The opportunity to guide Mullin came through Nordiq Canada’s Para Nordic Development coach Leslie Bode, at a moment when Ailey was focused on her own racing goals and working toward FISU World University Games selection.
