Brendan
Gaulin

Brendan Gaulin says his passion for sport has helped him improve his teamwork, leadership, and self-confidence. Gaulin first got involved in goalball in 2000, influenced by his sister, Sarah, who played on the Quebec team.

His sister and brother founded a recreational league in Montreal in 1999 and Gaulin quickly became passionate about the sport and took it to the next level, joining the national team. 

Gaulin helped Canada win the bronze medal at the Toronto 2015 Parapan Am Games, which earned the team a berth at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. He was Canada’s top scorer in the tournament and fourth overall with 20 goals in six games.

Rio marked his third Paralympic Games appearance.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

2008, 2012, 2016 Paralympic Games… Won bronze medals at both the 2009 IBSA Pan American Games and the 2011 IBSA World Games…

PERSONAL

Just like his two brothers and his sister, Gaulin has albinism. Gaulin’s sight is estimated to be at 10%, a level that allows him some autonomy… Kinesiology student at Simon Fraser University…
