Adam Lancia began shooting hoops in 1989 after discovering wheelchair basketball at Variety Village, a local community centre in Toronto. He grew up playing with the Variety Village club and ultimately made his way to the Canadian national team.
Lancia made his Team Canada debut in 1997 at the inaugural Junior Men’s World Wheelchair Basketball Championship in Toronto. Canada won the gold medal and successfully defended their title in 2001.
He joined the Sr. Men’s National Team in May 2001, and would eventually help Canada claim gold at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens and 2012 Paralympic Games in London, as well as silver at the Beijing Paralympic Games in 2008.
He retired in 2017.

PERSONAL
Married to Women’s National Team Athlete Jamey Jewells… Lancia has a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois and completed the Prosthetics and Orthotics Technician program at George Brown College in Toronto.
