SANTIAGO – It’s was Canada’s biggest medal day yet at the Santiago 2023 Parapan Am Games on Wednesday as the Games hit the midway mark.

Victory over Brazil puts Canada in wheelchair rugby final at Parapan Am Games
SANTIAGO – Canada defeated Brazil 60-45 on Wednesday to advance to the gold medal game in wheelchair rugby at the 2023 Parapan American Games.
The victory sets up a classic battle between Canada and the U.S., not only for the Games gold, but also a berth at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
Bullseye for bronze for Kyle Tremblay
SANTIAGO – Kyle Tremblay of Deep River, Ont. hit a bullseye in the shoot-off to win the bronze medal match in the men’s individual compound open Wednesday as the Para archery competition concluded at the 2023 Parapan American Games.
Santiago 2023 Day 4 Recap: Four Para athletics medals for Canadian Parapan Am Team
SANTIAGO – Canada added four medals – three silver and one bronze – to its total at the Santiago 2023 Parapan Am Games on Tuesday, while also securing at least four more to come on an exciting day of action.

Santiago 2023 Day 5 Preview: Canada playing for medals in boccia, Para archery
SANTIAGO – The Santiago 2023 Parapan Am Games are at the midway point, and competition is heating up for Canada across many sports. The Canadian Parapan Am Team is playing in six medal matches on Wednesday in boccia and Para archery, with medals up for grabs in Para athletics and Para swimming as well. Preliminary play has also concluded in most team sports, with Canada’s goalball, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby teams moving into the elimination rounds.
Canada defeats world number-one USA in wheelchair rugby at Parapan American Games
SANTIAGO – Zak Madell scored 30 points to lead Canada to a 46-41 victory over the United States, the number-one ranked country in the world, Tuesday to conclude its preliminary round undefeated at the Parapan American Games.
Both countries are heavily favoured to meet again in the championship final on Thursday however there are still the semifinals on Wednesday. The winner of the tournament gets a ticket to the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
Canada’s Doug Blessin places heartbreaking fourth in shooting at Parapan Ams
SANTIAGO – Canadian Para sport shooter Doug Blessin, a three-time Paralympian, said it was tough to finish fourth at the Parapan Am Games Tuesday but it wasn’t nearly as tough as enduring the stomach flu over the past few days.
Brice Parker pays his dues to be on Canada’s men’s goalball team
SANTIAGO – Brice Parker of London, Ont. started playing goalball at age 11 and had to pay his dues to crack the veteran line-up on the men’s national goalball team.
But there he was on the floor Monday playing in a crucial situation during the final minute of Canada’s 5-4 loss to Argentina in preliminary round action at the 2023 Parapan American Games. The winner of the tournament gets a ticket to the 2024 Paralympic Games.
Santiago 2023 Day 3 Recap: Jordan Tucker wins bronze in the pool to bring Canada to 11 medals
SANTIAGO – Thanks to a bronze medal from Para swimmer Jordan Tucker, Canada added to its podium total at the Santiago 2023 Parapan Am Games on Monday. Canadian athletes also reached semifinals in boccia and Para archery, with more round-robin games played across wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, goalball, and CP Football.
