Classification

Robyn Andrews has represented Canada more than 10 times at the CPEDI level in the United States and Europe.

In 2014, Andrews had a breakout season, beginning with a win in the Grade 1a Freestyle at the CPEDI 3* Wellington in Florida early in the season. She went on to join the Canadian Para-Dressage Team on their European Spring Tour where she and Fancianna earned top 10 results at CPEDI 3* competitions in Deauville, FRA, Moorsele, BEL, and Mannheim, GER. Andrews and Fancianna capped off the year by representing the Canadian Equestrian Team at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy, FRA.

The 2015 season saw Andrews and Fancianna earn multiple wins in Wellington before returning to Europe, this time travelling to Hartpury, ENG, Mulhouse, FRA and Überhern, GER, where they earned top five results. In 2016, the unstoppable pair placed in the top four every time they entered the ring in Wellington, before returning to Canada, where they scored a hat trick at the CPEDI 3* Touch of Class in Langley, BC, winning all three classes in the Grade 1a division.

She made her Paralympic Games debut in 2016.

PERSONAL

Andrews has a story that defies the odds. While undergoing brain surgeries to remove a tumour and relieve pressure on her brain, doctors accidentally hit a main artery, causing her to have a massive stroke, resulting in paralysis. Today, Robyn not only rides, but is able to lead her own horse, and continues to amaze the medical community.
