At age seven, she was diagnosed with bone cancer and lung cancer. She was told she had a one percent survival rate and underwent more than 20 surgeries in her native Poland. After four years of treatment, mobility in her legs was affected.

Although she doesn’t use a wheelchair in everyday life, she was introduced to wheelchair tennis in 2017 through Parasport-Québec. She was hooked almost immediately and bought her first racquet at Canadian Tire.  She admitted adapting to the wheelchair was a challenge but through hard work she is getting more and more skilled.
At her first competition in 2019, she unexpectedly won gold in doubles and silver at the Canadian championships.
