Mitch McIntyre ranked No. 24 as of October 2023 in the quad division. He has won four ITF singles and six ITF doubles titles. He was a career high 13th in October 2022. That year he was named Tennis Canada’s most improved wheelchair player.

He made his multi-sport Games debut at the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima where the quad classification was contested for the first time. He placed fourth advancing to the bronze medal match in which he lost to Bryan Barten of the U.S.

McIntyre competed in his first World Team Cup for Canada in 2018 – the largest international team tennis tournament in the sport – and later that year, helped his nation finish sixth to earn a direct entry in the 2020 event.

He started playing the sport in Esterhazy, Sask., where he grew up. There were two outdoor courts by the golf course and he would play most days after golfing. He was drawn to wheelchair tennis because of its difficulty to master, the challenge and enjoyed the sport and the training.
