Lance Cryderman, a Canadian Boccia player from Sudbury, Ontario, is set to represent Canada at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, marking his second Paralympic appearance. Cryderman first competed at the Sydney 2000 Paralympics before taking a long hiatus from competitive sport. He returned to the sport in 2017 after being inspired by watching the webcast of the Canadian Boccia Championships.
Cryderman has made a strong comeback, securing a series of podium finishes in national competitions, including silver medals at the 2018, 2019, and 2021 Canadian Boccia Championships. Internationally, he reached the round of 16 at the 2022 World Championships and earned a silver medal in the team event at the 2023 Parapan American Games, along with a silver in the individual competition.
Aside from his athletic career, Cryderman holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He is dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities in pursuing post-secondary education, leveraging his experiences as a student-athlete to inspire others.
