Joëlle Guérette made her world championships debut in 2022 in Rio. She won her first game and advanced to the round of 16.

She competes in the BC3 class in which players use a ramp and guide the ball with a pointer on their head to aim their shots.

It was in 2015, that Guérette made the decision to become a boccia player, a sport that demands intense focus. She has been rising in the ranks ever since.

Guérette is motivated to play because it keeps her physically and mentally stimulated. She has become a staple on the national team and continues to progress both in individual and pairs play with her performance partner, Jonathan Manseau.

In her spare time, Guérette helps her friend Yves Gauthier gather funds for Muscular Dystrophy Canada, a cause that she is passionate about.
