At the 2019 Parapan American Games, Emma Van Dyck reached the final and set personal best times in her five events. The highlight was a bronze medal in the S14 100m butterfly. She also posted two other top-five finishes.

At the Madeira 2022 World Para Swimming Championships, Van Dyk was a member of the mixed 4×100-m freestyle S14 relay that placed fourth and broke the Canadian record. Individually, Van Dyk placed ninth in the 100-m backstroke S14, 11th in the 200-m individual medley SM14, and 12th in the 200-m freestyle S14.

In February 2023, she broke the Canadian record in the S14 100m backstroke and also holds the marks since 2022 in the 400 IM and the 200 butterfly as of October 2023.

Started swimming at a young age as a form of physio then started taking lessons... Also a rower, won a gold with her twin sister in junior doubles at the Ontario Championships… Worked at Parks Canada at Fort George as a player in 1812 War re-enactment… Has one brother and three sisters.
