Élodie Tessier Élodie Tessier

Élodie Tessier made her Paralympic Games debut at Tokyo 2020 and competed at her second world championships in 2023. Canada was fifth at both events. Later in 2023, she helped Canada to silver at the Parapan Am Games then in early 2024 was on the team that went undefeated at the Paralympic Games qualifier.

Tessier was introduced to wheelchair basketball by a school friend. The team spirit exhibited in the sport fits perfectly with Tessier’s bubbly and smiling personality.

An attack-minded athlete, Tessier embraces the competitive nature of wheelchair basketball. Tessier has worked hard to move her way up the competitive ladder of wheelchair sport, and is extremely proud of the opportunity to represent Team Canada.

Master’s in Economics Data Analysis at the University of Texas at Arlington and Bachelor’s in Operations and Supply Chain Management, also from Texas… Born with leg impairment… Has a twin sister Jessica who is a big influence on her life…Tried wheelchair basketball for the first time in 2010.
