A national team member since 2015, Andrew Todd and his partner Kyle Fredrickson are two-time world champions in the PR3 pairs events. The teammates took the titles in 2018 and 2019. However, that event is not on the Paralympic Games program so their focus for Tokyo in the mixed fours.

Along with Fredrikson, Victoria Nolan, Bayleigh Hooper and coxswain Laura Court the mixed crew took fourth spot at the 2019 worlds showing a medal in Tokyo is within their grasp. That performance was re-enforced in June 2021 with a victory at the Paralympic Games qualifying event Italy.

Todd was training on his bicycle in 2013, when a school bus ran through a stop sign, and hit him. He suffered severe injuries to the bottom half of his body including the and knee.

He was already a competitive and was training hard to hopefully make the men’s lightweight fours for the Olympic Games in Rio.

Todd used rowing as a method for recovery and credits family and friends for helping regain his motivation to return to competitive sport again despite setbacks along the way.
