Canadians Nathan Clement and Alexandre Hayward win medals at Para cycling World Cup

OSTEND, Belgium – World champion Nathan Clement of West Vancouver and Alexandre Hayward of Quispamsis, N.B. won silver and bronze medals in the time trial events which concluded Friday at the second stop on the Para cycling World Cup road circuit.

In the men’s T1 (tricycle) time trial, Jianxin Chen of China edged Clement in the 19.7 kilometre race clocking 35 minutes and 43.602 seconds. Clement followed 19 seconds behind with Rongfei Lu of China third a further 11 seconds back.

Boccia Canada’s National Team Competing on Home Soil for the 2024 Montreal World Boccia Cup

From April 30 to May 5, nine Boccia Canada athletes will compete on the world stage in Montréal at the 2024 World Boccia Cup. The competition begins this Tuesday at the Maurice Richard Arena.

A total of 22 countries and 93 athletes will be competing at the Montréal World Cup. There are nine athletes competing for Boccia Canada in individual play and seven of those participating in Team, Pair BC3, and Pair BC4 play.

Hall of Fame induction a ‘huge honour’ for Dave and Sabrina Durepos

For Dave and Sabrina Durepos, the induction into the Wheelchair Basketball Canada Hall of Fame has presented a time to reflect on their wheelchair basketball careers and their time with the Senior National Team.

Both admitted it wasn’t the wins and losses or medals that jumped to mind but the time spent with teammates.
