[MEDAL ALERT] Mollie Jepsen wins silver medal in giant slalom

BEIJING – Mollie Jepsen of West Vancouver won the silver medal in the women’s giant slalom on Friday in Para alpine skiing at the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games.

Mengqiu Zhang of China took the gold medal with the fastest times on both runs clocking one minute and 55.12 seconds. Jepsen collected her second medal of the Games finishing in a combined time of 2:00.95 while Andrea Rothfuss of Germany snared the bronze in 2:01.91.

Michaela Gosselin of Collingwood, Ont. was sixth while double Games bronze medallist Alana Ramsay of Calgary was sixth after the first run and did not finish her second run.

Last Saturday, Jepsen won the gold medal in the downhill, was sixth the next day in the Super-G and did not finish in the super combined. The 22-year-old now has six career Games medals after reaching the podium four times in her Games debut in 2018.
