BEIJING – The U.S. scored two shorthanded goals on the same penalty to open the scoring in the first period en route to a 5-0 victory over Canada in the gold medal match at the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games.

The Canadians earn the silver for a second straight Games. It is a fourth consecutive title for USA.

Midway in the first with their teammate Jack Wallace in the penalty box for teeing, American scoring stars Declan Farmer and Brody Roybal scored 25 seconds apart to stun the Canadians early in the game. However Canada took the play the rest of period outshooting the Americans 8-3.

Canadian goalie Dominic Larocque sparkled early in the second period with a couple of big saves including one on a Josh Pauls penalty shot. But the Americans kept the pressure and Pauls and Roybal put the U.S. up 4-0 after two.

Six-time Canadian Paralympian Billy Bridges hit the goalpost early in the third as the Canadians worked frantically to get an early goal. With less than 10 minutes remaining Farmer put the game away for the U.S.
