The Canadian Paralympic Committee mourns the loss of Dr. Jamie Kissick, a pioneer for sport medicine in Paralympic sport across the country.

Dr. Kissick was a widely well-respected and valued member of the sport medicine and Paralympic community both in Canada and internationally. A longtime member of the International Paralympic Committee Medical Committee, he worked with a number of Paralympic sports and athletes in Canada and was part of several Paralympic Games teams.

In addition to his work with a number of other sports, he was especially an advocate and champion for advancing the sport medicine discussion and research in Paralympic sport. He was also a longtime mentor and friend to so many in the community. His vast contributions in the field have made a huge difference in Paralympic sport in Canada and will leave a lasting legacy.

He will be greatly missed.
