Her best result at a major championships

NEW DELHI (Athletics Canada) Charlotte Bolton was first out of the gate for Team Canada at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, and she saved the best for last in the women’s F41 shot put final.

After a slow start that saw her not register a legal distance in throws 2 through 4, Bolton launched her 6th and final throw 9.09 metres, to catapult into 5th place in the world.

That 5th place finish is also her best performance in a major Championships.

“I feel pretty good. It’s by far the best I’ve placed in a Worlds, so far. I pushed through some struggle today, but held it together to get that good last throw. I’m really proud of myself for that,” the two-time Paralympian said. “

With shot put now done, Bolton will now focus on the discus event later this week.

“The second event is always easier. You’ve gotten the nerves out of the way. I plan to bring some more confidence and speaking up for myself in the conditions of the circle, and sweeping out myself, and just trying to relax and throw and have fun,” she said.
