CORTINA- Brittany Hudak won her first medal at the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games on Wednesday with bronze in the women’s standing 10km cross country race, while Mark Arendz earned his second medal in the men’s equivalent.

Hudak, from Prince Albert, Sask., finished behind silver medalist Vilde Nilson of Norway and winner Sydney Peterson of the U.S.

“It feels great,” said Hudak, her fourth career medal in four Games. “I knew the fitness was there, I knew I was skiing well, it was just kind of managing to put everything together in the same day. I’m really happy to put together a solid race.”

Emma Archibald of Fall River, N.S., was sixth.

On the men’s side, Arendz, from Hartsville, P.E.I., earned his 14th career medal clocking third behind Belarus’ Raman Svirydzenka and France’s Karl Tabouret, silver and gold medallists respectively.

I woke up this morning knowing I could bring those two together and this could be a good chance for me.”
