Richard Carr

Born in Kincardine, Ont., in 1972, Richard Carr now resides in Port Elgin, Ont., with his wife and three children.
Richard became involved in track and field in 2005 after he lost his vision due to retinal detachment. Since then he has had the opportunity to represent Canada internationally; of note was the 2009 IBSF Pan American Games where he won a gold medal in high jump and a bronze medal in the 100 metres.
Most recently, Richard was a member of the fourth-place 4x100 metre visually-impaired relay squad at the 2011 IPC World Championships in Christchurch, NZ.
Richard is aiming for personal bests at the 2011 Parapan American Games and hopes to represent Canada at the London 2012 Paralympics.
