Matt Gilbert joined the national team program in 2012 and has stuck with it ever since. He started playing soccer at age five and he was scouted by national team staff while playing in a men’s league. Gilbert enjoys being part of a national team and all of the perks that can go with it such as travelling around the world and wearing the Canadian colours.
