Karl Ludwig made his Paralympic Games debut in 2014 in Sochi, earning a bronze medal as Canada defeated Norway 3-0 in the third-place match. 

Ludwig was first introduced to a sled at age two but it was at age seven that sledge hockey became a passion. He began his sledge hockey career at the Cruisers Sports for the Physically Disabled in Mississauga, Ontario. Ludwig made his debut with the national team in 2013 and has experienced consistent success with gold medals at the IPC World Championships and World Sledge Hockey Challenge. Prior to the 2013 world championships, he played six games for Team Canada, scoring four goals, including a hat trick, in a three-game series with Norway in January in Quebec.

Ludwig also played 12 games with the national development team, which he joined in 2010, earning five goals and three assists.

He graduated from Humber College’s Travel and Tourism program in 2008 and also studies comedy writing.
