Erin Latimer competed in five Para alpine skiing races at the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games and cracked the top-10 in four of them. She produced a breakthrough season in 2016-17, collecting six medals on the Para alpine World Cup circuit. They were her first international medals of her career. She launched the season with bronze medals in both giant slalom races at the opening World Cup in Kuhtai, Austria in December 2016.

A week later she added two more bronze medals at the second stop in St. Moritz, Switzerland and a third in the super combined at the third stop at Innerkrems, Austria in January 2017. Her best international result was a silver in the GS at the fourth stop in Slovenia just before the world championships in Tarvisio, Italy in January 2017. Latimer finished the World Cup season ranked third overall in both the GS and super combined.

Latimer has also competed at the last two world championships and two World Cup finals, registering top-eight finishes in every race she completed. She collected three top-10s at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games at age 17.

Latimer was born with a congenital amputation of her right arm below the elbow. She started skiing at Craigleith Ski Club near Collingwood, Ontario at age two. Her sister and cousins were already out on the slopes and she was anxious to join them.

She advanced through the ski school and started ski racing in the Nancy Greene Development League at age seven. Since then, Latimer has been racing in the able-bodied program at Craigleith.

In 2012, she was introduced to para-alpine by Gwen Binsfeld, a coach on the Ontario Disabled Alpine Racing Team. Her first competition was in Huntsville at the Ontario ParaSport Winter Games in February 2012.

In 2013, Latimer won the gold medal in the standing giant slalom at the Para alpine Canadian Championship in B.C. Her medal was presented by Canadian skiing legend Nancy Greene. She added two Nor-Am titles with gold in slalom and giant slalom.

The 2013-14 season was her first traveling with the World Cup team and she enjoyed success at the opening stop on the circuit with two top-10 results. She capped the season competing at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

Latimer graduated from high school at the end of January 2014.
