Emma Grace Van Dyk has made her mark at the Parapan American Games and now she’s ready to do the same for the first time at the Paralympics in 2024.

At the Paralympic team trials in May 2024, she broke the Canadian record in the S14 100m backstroke and also holds the marks since 2022 in the 400 IM and the 200 butterfly.

At the 2023 Parapan Ams in Santiago Chile, Van Dyk won bronze in the 100-metre backstroke. She also placed sixth in the 200-metre freestyle, 200-metre individual medley, and 100-metre butterfly.

Four years earlier in Peru, she reached the final and set personal best times in her five events. The highlight was a bronze medal in the S14 100m butterfly. She also posted two other top-five finishes.

At the Madeira 2022 World Para Swimming Championships, Van Dyk was a member of the mixed 4×100-m freestyle S14 relay that placed fourth and broke the Canadian record. Individually.
