Connor Bissett, diagnosed with autism at the age of two, started taking swimming lessons at a young age. He has competed at Special Olympics since he was 11 as well as in the S14 class in Para swimming. His mother Margo credits his swimming career with helping him thrive in social settings.

His entire family is involved with the Special Olympics: his mother used to be a coach, his father drives him to all his competitions and his sister Hana is a volunteer.
