Prior to his work as a management consultant which began in May 2004, David Rattray was an Assistant Auditor General of Canada (OAG) for 16 years. For 6 years, until 2014, he was a Treasury Board of Canada appointee to the audit committees for the departments National Defence and Citizenship and Immigration Canada and currently is an external member of the Audit and Evaluation Committee for the Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada.

For almost 40 years David has been active in the volunteer community. and recently or currently sits on several Boards and Foundations, including the Ottawa Senators Foundation, the Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Foundation and an Advisory Council member of Compassionate Ottawa. He is recipient of the Canada 125 medal as well as the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals and the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers.

For David, an inclusive sport system means having all the conditions in place for Canadians of all ages to participate in any sport activity without barriers.  “An equal playing field for everyone. Every Canadian, young or old, irrespective of abilities should have the opportunity to participate in sports or some form of physical fitness. However, there are not sufficient resources in place as yet to facilitate this ideal of full participation.”
