At the 2018 Pan Pacific Para Swimming Championships in Cairns, Alexander Elliot won gold medals in the 100-m backstroke S10, 100-m butterfly S10 and the 200-m individual medley SM10 in a personal best time. He also captured a silver medal in the 400-m freestyle S10.
At the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, Elliot was busy as he competed in six events. His best result had him 4th in the 100-m butterfly.
He enjoyed a banner season in 2015. He marched five times to the podium at the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games and reached five individual finals at the IPC World Championships, including a fifth place in the 100-m backstroke.
In 2014, he earned a berth on his first Canadian team for the Pan Pacific Para-swimming Championships in Pasadena. In the 100-m butterfly race, he was second to compatriot Nathan Stein as both went under Benoit Huot’s national record. He defeated the legendary Huot for a victory in the S10 100-m butterfly at the 2013 Can Am Championships in Edmonton.
