The Canadian Paralympic Committee created the Sport Awards after the Vancouver 2010 Winter Paralympic Games in order to recognize outstanding athlete and team performances at the Paralympic Games, as well as excellence in coaching at both the high performance and development levels.

The award for Best Games Debut goes to an athlete for whom the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games was his/her first Paralympic Games competition and who achieved outstanding results in their debut Games.

Award For Best Female Athlete

The award for Best Female Athlete recognizes and celebrates a female athlete for outstanding athletic performances at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

Award For Best Male Athlete

The award for Best Male Athlete recognizes and celebrates a male athlete for outstanding athletic performances at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

Award For Best Team Performance

The award for Best Team Performance recognizes and celebrates a team's outstanding athletic performances at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

Tim Frick Paralympic Coach Excellence Award

The Tim Frick Paralympic Coach Excellence Award recognizes a coach who provides the vision, leadership, knowledge, and dedication towards setting an environment that supports an athlete's journey to reach the highest levels of Paralympic sport excellence.

Development Coach Of The Year Award

The Development Coach of the Year Award recognizes a coach within the development environment who has had an exceptional influence on the recruitment, identification, and progression of athletes through the sport's development pathway.
