Gerry Stefanatos retired from Pfizer in 2018 after he joined them in 2015 with the integration of Hospira.

Gerry brought over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry to Pfizer, leading Pfizer Essential Health, the entity that integrated the Hospira acquisition. Before his appointment with Pfizer, he held the role of Corporate Vice President and President, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and as such led Hospira’s second largest commercial presence globally.

Gerry acquired his extensive industry experience at Abbott Laboratories. He launched his career in 1988 working within Abbott’s Nutrition Division. His business acumen and leadership skills were honed through a variety of increasingly responsible sales and marketing management positions with both Pharma and device portfolios including Director, Hospital Products Division from 2000-2003.

Gerry was also an Executive Board Member of MEDEC, the national association of Canada’s medical technology industry, from 2004 to 2009.

For Gerry, sport is about more than just the results on the scoreboard. “Participating in sport is such an incredibly rewarding activity from the health benefits offered, the opportunity to learn new skills and bolster self-esteem, or simply having the chance to be part of a team. Being able to include and afford every Canadian with a disability the opportunity to choose sport is a key part of our social fabric.”

Gerry earned a business degree at McGill University in Montréal.
