TORONTO, March 17, 2015 – The Canadian Paralympic Committee and Swimming Canada will announce the athletes and coaches nominated to the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games Team on Monday, March 23 at 8:15 a.m.

PASADENA, Calif. – Katarina Roxon of St. John’s, N.L., and Aurélie Rivard of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., won gold medals in national record times on Sunday to conclude a great performance for Canadian Para-swimmers at the Para Pan Pacific Championships.

In the women’s S8 100-m breaststroke, Roxon broke her own Canadian mark clocking one minute and 23.29 seconds.

PASADENA, Calif. – Benoit Huot of Longueuil, Que., Adam Rahier of Powell River, B.C., and Gordie Michie of St.Thomas, Ont., each won a gold medal on Saturday to double Canada’s victory count at the Para Pan Pacific Para-swimming championships.

PASADENA, Calif. Nathan Stein of Surrey, B.C., won gold and bronze and Aurélie Rivard of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., added her second victory in two days on Thursday at the Para Pan Pacific Para-swimming championships.

Aurelie with bronze medalThe Canadian para swimming trio of Aurélie Rivard, Katarina Roxon and Morgan Bird will leave Glasgow early Wednesday morning with en route to the Pan Pacific Para-Swimming Championships in Pasadena, California, bringing with them a bronze medal and loads of encouragement.

Friends as well as teammates, they were the only Paralympians on the Canadian swimming team of 33.
